Seasoning Dust Collection System

Problem: A customer needed a new dust collection system, as they were having problems with seasoning dust getting into the air and cross contaminating their other products. Previously, the dust was collected through duct work and exhausted through the roof, leading to increased maintenance and an unpleasant work environment.

Solution: Project Technologies & Services (PTS) provided the customer with assistance by working with the equipment manufacturer to design a new system. The system included a drum filter, instead of a roof exhaust.

The new system has the advantages of:

• Preventing dust from entering the air and irritating employees
• Reducing maintenance requirements, rarely requiring more than emptying the drum
• Eliminating cross contamination, drastically improving quality

In addition, PTS assisted in the design of a new duct system, running to the drum filter instead of the roof exhaust.

PTS was onsite to manage the installation of the new system and duct work. PTS ensured the project was performed efficiently, quickly and safely. PTS remained onsite to assist with startup and commissioning of the new equipment.
